For Electric Supply, Renewable Energy Products, and Energy Storage
This website provides information for prospective energy suppliers to Ameren Illinois Company d/b/a Ameren Illinois (“Ameren” or “AIC”), Commonwealth Edison Company (“ComEd”), and MidAmerican Energy Company (“MidAmerican” or “MEC”). This website contains the documents and announcements related to the Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”) for electric supply , renewable energy products, and energy storage. This website is currently managed by the Procurement Administrator retained by the Illinois Power Agency (“IPA”). The IPA has retained NERA Economic Consulting (“NERA”) to act as Procurement Administrator. In this role, NERA coordinates the IPA’s procurement activities on its own behalf as well as for AIC’s, ComEd’s, and MEC’s portfolios.
- On September 29, 2025, the IPA submitted its 2026 Electricity Procurement Plan (“Plan”) to the Illinois Commerce Commission (“ICC”) in compliance with Public Act 95-0481 (the “Act”), which includes the Illinois Power Agency Act (“IPA Act”). The ICC issued its Order with regards to the Plan on December 18, 2025. Information related to procurement events to be held under the 2026 Electricity Procurement Plan are available on this website.
- Public Act 102-0662 (the “Climate and Equitable Jobs Act”) was signed into law and became effective on September 15, 2021. Public Act 103-0380, related to the procurement of RECs from certain hydropower projects, was signed into law and became effective on January 1, 2024. In accordance with Public Act 102-0662, the IPA filed its Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan (“2026 Long-Term Plan”) with the ICC and the ICC issued a Final Order approving the 2026 Long-Term Plan with modifications on February 17, 2026. Information related to procurement events to be held under the IPA’s Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plans are available on this website.
- Public Act 104-0458 (the “Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act”) was signed into law on January 8, 2026, and will take effect on June 1, 2026.
